PROMT

PROMT (from PROject MT - Machine Translation Project) - a Russian company, developer of machine translation systems. 

Currently, there are PROMT  translators support English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Russian. In recent years, PROMT provides along with its different variants of the machine translation and related specialized dictionaries, their own products based on the technology of Translation memory.

The company was founded in St. Petersburg in 1991. The first machine translation system was called PROMT (1991), in 1992 the name was changed to the STYLUS, and in 1998 - back to PROMT. October 6, 1998 PROMT Russia launches the first web service Translate.ru, intended for transfer of text or web pages into another language.



At the heart of PROMT translation technology is rule-based MT. At the end of 2010 PROMT translation technology introduced Hybrid, which combines the approach RBMT and SMT.
